As we're trying to slowly get caught up, here's a picture of Grandaddy and EH planting the Farm/garden: peppers, squash, tomatos and herbs for Mommy. It's amazing how much it's grown already! We'll take some update pictures soon...once I get all the stakes in and the weeds out...
These pictures are from the Homewood Easter Egg Hunt. Aunt Catherine, Uncle Kyle, and James came for a visit the weekend before Easter and we loved every minute of their being here. Catherine and I got a chance to go shopping without the kids in downtown Homewood and I gave her the 25 cent tour of the town. We got a babysitter for Saturday night and had dinner at Botegga, a local Italian cafe.

Mary, Ben, and Helen's visit last week went perfectly and it was definitely a welcome break! We're so glad they came, and we had a lot of fun going to the park and having our "no kids date," dinner at Little Savannah (again, an excellent choice by the Klauders) followed by dessert at Chez LuLu - a personal favorite of ours. I liked it so much that I left my credit card there and had to go back later in the week!
Here's EH at the zoo. We dropped him over the side of the Exhibit. True story. Delivered the tiger's cubs. Tiger Blood!
We took everybody to the zoo earlier in the day and on Sunday, Uncle Ben & I went to take EH to the Sport Clips.
This picture doesn't do any justice to how horrible the whole experience was. We're definitely regressing on haircuts. But I brought out the Full Nelson, and we got it done because EH was giving Bieber a run for his money.
This weekend, we had a date with the Cragos on Friday at the Melting Pot. We had a great time, and they had to roll us out of the restaurant, but the bank called asking if we were aware that Melting Pot had hemorraged our checking account with its bubbling meat sauce. Mmmm...meat sauce.
On Saturday, we made our way over to Homewood Day, which was a festival at the park. The barbeque was excellent and we met some new friends who are just moving to Birmingham. A couple of weeks ago when the Klauders were in town, we were at the Park cautiously eying the Park Maintenance walk up to the creek with an air rifle...seriously...and luckily Ben (who doesn't appear to mind pellet wounds) figured out he was trying to kill a snake (also not kidding). While all this was going on, this lady approached Emily asking her if she'd mind letting her know about the neighborhood because her family was being relocated to Birmingham. Now, this lady obviously has good instincts because that is a subject Emily knows well. So anyway, several e-mail exchanges later, Emily got both families to meet at the fair, and Emily & I could completely understand how they're feeling.
Later, we had dinner (lasagna & fudge pie!) with our neighbors Josh & Laura! And today, EH and I made breakfast for Mommy. After discovering that we had no eggs, we made peanut butter toast & orange juice, and then put paper flowers (Nick Lewis style!) in a glass, and brought it in with her present!
If you can't tell that's EH & Caty's handprints. Please note that if they didn't have both their names by each hand, you'd assume that one or the other did both. Not so, they're the SAME size.
Then it was Church AND Sunday School (a first for both), lunch and a MONSTER family nap. Then dinner at the CPK and early bed time. As Dad, I declare that a succesful Mother's Day.
Looking forward to a good week and Mary B Jones comes too!
